Greetings Graduate Student Members of SIG-RME!
SIG-RME is hosting an exciting book club opportunity this Spring! Earlier this year, acclaimed author and scholar, Christopher Emdin released his latest text – Ratchetdemic: Reimagining Academic Success. This book club aims to create a space for graduate students to meet and discuss this book and its implications for education, and more specifically, mathematics education.
The group will meet three times throughout the Spring semester: end of January, beginning of March, and at the 2022 AERA Annual Conference. The exact dates will be set based on student interest and availability and a hybrid option will be provided for the final discussion. Prior to each meeting time, participants will be asked to read a third of the book and come ready to discuss what resonated with them. Additionally, SIG-RME will be able to purchase the text for those who may need assistance to ensure equitable participation.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
